GRACE
The definition of grace is given as “the free and unmerited favor of God.” It refers to divine love and strength given to humans. It also says that this grace is not deserved.
Think back for a moment and you will surely think of a time when God poured His Grace into your life.
Forgiveness, new beginnings, undeserved help from God. This is grace.
Have YOU thanked Him for that GRACE so freely given.
Perhaps, it changed your life as it did mine.
You confessed your sins and God forgave you.
You sought a new path and God showed it to you.
Perhaps, you asked for strength, and it was given to you, far above and beyond what you knew you possessed.
It was God’s Grace.
Let us turn to the Bible and see several verses that tell us more of His gift of grace.
Ephesians 2:4-5 NKJV 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
Salvation itself, is a gift of grace.
Thank Him.
Hebrews 4:16 NKJV 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
We have access to God through Christ and can receive mercy and grace to help us in time of need.
Oh, the countless ways that God has provided such help to us!!
1 Peter 5:10 NKJV 10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
God’s grace will establish us in our faith walk, give us strength, and settle us on the path that God wants us to walk.
He will help us turn from our sins and with the help of the Holy Spirit, keep us walking in godly ways.
Titus 2:11-12 NKJV 11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,
It is God’s grace that brings salvation, teaches us to deny ungodliness and sin, and helps us live soberly, righteously and godly.
The world around us will be living in the ways of the devil, but God will pour His grace upon us, and help us to live in ways that are pleasing to Him. They will also be ways that are ultimately pleasing to us as well. Walking in the ways of the world only bring sadness, sorrow, sin, and death.
Following the ways of God alone, bring lasting joy and peace.
Romans 6:14 NKJV 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
When we believe Christ and follow Him as our Savior, we can confess our sins and find forgiveness from God.
Our sins are now forgiven and gone through the gift of Christ’s death on the cross. Sin no longer has dominion over you, for you are now under GRACE.
Read these verses and others on grace in your Bible. Then let us turn to God with hearts full of thankfulness and praise.
God has indeed poured His GRACE upon us.
Let us live in the newness of life that He gives.
