We use excuses. I am too young or too inexperienced. I am quiet or shy. God in essence is saying, Youth Can. In Him, we all can. No one is too young or small if called by God to serve and witness for Him.
7 But the Lord said to me:
“Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’
For you shall go to all to whom I send you,
And whatever I command you, you shall speak.
8 Do not be afraid of their faces,
For I am with you to deliver you,” says the Lord. Jeremiah 1:7-8 NJKV
AGE NOT A FACTOR
You are not too young. Don’t use that as an excuse not to serve God. Neither is one too old. There is no age requirement to be a Christian sharing Jesus with others.
GO
Likewise, God is telling us that we should go wherever He sends us and to whomever He sends us. That which God lays on our hearts, we are to speak to those in our path. Fear of them or what they might think of us should not enter into the equation. We should not be self-conscious or evaluate our audience versus our own perceived abilities and education. Once we do such things, we set up roadblocks in our own way.
BANISHING THE ROADBLOCKS WE CREATE
God clearly strips away the excuses we might use.
You are old enough and well-equipped by God.
I don’t know who once said the great line that God doesn’t call the equipped, He equips the called.
Thus, with God telling us that we are ready to serve Him, we can be assured that we are. He is with us and will help us.
Go where we are sent and speak the words of God to those to whom we are sent.
Don’t be afraid of them or doubt God’s power to help us obey Him.
GOD WITH US
HE IS WITH US to deliver us from all that threatens in our minds and in our daily walk. That is a powerful, powerful promise of God’s help and Presence as we serve Him.
