You number my wanderings;
Put my tears into Your bottle;
Are they not in Your book? Psalms 56:8 NKJV
Your Prayers
Do you feel that your prayers aren’t heard? My heart breaks when I realize many have felt this way at least once. This is a ploy of the devil. He would love to have you feel unheard, unloved, and discouraged.
The truth is that if you are a believer in Christ and are following Him, your prayers are heard and cherished.
Remembering
I remember as a four-year-old, making pictures for my grandmother who nearly raised me.
Years later, as a teenager, I mentioned those many pictures to her and she opened a drawer that had nothing in it Except for hundreds of my pictures to her and the schoolwork that she kept from me. Every page I had ever given her was there. I felt so understood and so loved.
Much the same is true with our prayers.
Let’s reread our verse. The psalmist David is letting us know that God knows all the times our emotions and feelings wander away from Him. Perhaps, our bodies wandered from Him too.
Tears
Sometimes, those experiences brought us to tears or nearly so, and those tears and near tears and emotions went to God in the form of our prayers. They were saved by God Himself. Those tears are in a bottle and our prayers are recorded in God’s book.
God is Aware
Nothing makes us feel more heard and understood than having the God of the Universe, Who happens to be your loving Father, and mine, aware of all of our needs.
He cares about each of us as though we are the only ones on this earth.
God is fully aware of every cell of our bodies since He was the One Who made every one of them.
He hears and answers every prayer.
We might feel He isn’t answering when those prayers are answered by a “Wait Awhile!”
Sometimes, we know they are answered by a “No.”
Sometimes they are answered with a resounding “Yes!”
Every prayer, however, was answered and lovingly so.
In fact, He keeps every tear we wept bottled up and every prayer we prayed written in His Book.
That is Your Loving Father and Mine!
