I find daily prayer helps me keep focused on what God has called me and all Christians to do. He asks us to give up the world and serve Him, but He gives us so much more than the world offers in return.

Some Christians only talk about the gift of eternal salvation, but there is much more that God wants to give you. He wants to fill your heart with Joy and Thanksgiving. Jesus has called us to serve as He served. Yes, it may lead to a cross, but He has promised to be with us all the way. His presence brings continuous joy. Your loving kindness All Mighty God sustains us.

So when you pray always give thanks and praise Him for making you part of His great work. Also, praise Him for forgiving your sins and for saving your soul. Look at your life with eternity in mind. Don’t get caught up in all the lies of the world they will not bring you either peace or lasting joy.

Prayer

O Lord my God, Creator of all things
I praise You for all You have done.
When I call upon You, You answer me,
as if I were important.

You show loving
kindness to me even when I sin.
You forgive me and restore my soul.
Happiness and joy are in Your hands.

You bless me with inward peace in
a world that has gone after evil.
I love You, my Lord!
You have removed my fear of death.

My desire is to please You!
Thank You for creating me
in my mother’s womb.
Praise Your Holy Name!

Pray without ceasing

Paul says in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NKJV,  Rejoice always,  pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Once you have accepted Jesus as your Savior you are not to sit and wait for His return. He left you with a job to do in His earthly kingdom. You need to spend time in prayer and to meditate on what you pray. Are you asking according to God’s will or are you thinking only of your wants? Prayer will define your life if you will surrender to the Holy Spirit’s leading.
