16 Come and hear, all you who fear God;
let me tell you what he has done for me. Ps 66:16 NIV

THE EXCUSES

Sometimes we wait until we have finished our schooling and have a degree. Perhaps, you are waiting for more years of education to be completed, or many years of church membership before we witness to another or share our faith. We assume we are not ready to step out for God. We downplay our experience and our age. Do we think we are too young, too busy, or too old?

Given the “right” time, we tell ourselves that certainly we would go and be a good witness. We argue with ourselves, that surely no one expects such witnessing of us NOW. We are too inexperienced, too busy, and, oh yes, far too nervous to stand up before others. Are any or all of these excuses ones that you have heard others say? Have you said them yourself when asked to go invite someone to church or speak out for your faith?

COME AND HEAR

Sometimes, we love God SO MUCH that we want to serve Him and share the good news of Jesus so much that we rush out right now. We love Him NOW. He has been good to us NOW. We simply cannot contain our joy and appreciation and love for God. Telling what he has done for me is the best thing I can do. You can do the same. We don’t want to keep quiet about it. In fact, we CAN NOT keep quiet about it. There is too much excitement and desire to share this wonderful God we have come to know. We cannot keep still about Him.

And so we go. We go with the study of the Word. We go with the help of the indwelling Holy Spirit teaching us and guiding us. Forward we go into the world to share Jesus.

THE MISSION TRIP OF 10 FEET

“Come and hear,” we say in one way or another to those around us. We go on the mission trip.

The funny thing about mission trips is that they don’t have to be across the world.

Sometimes, a mission trip is just across the lawn to the next-door neighbor or one door down the hall to the next apartment.

We have that person in front of us now. We have their attention. They are giving us a puzzled look and wondering what all the excitement is about. What puts that joy on our faces and has brought us to tell them something.

THE ANSWER FROM PSALMS

What do we share now? Psalm 66 has the answer. Simply and lovingly tell them what GOD HAS DONE FOR YOU.

Nothing is more personal and profound than telling from your heart all that God has done for you.

TELL IT

Has He saved you from your sins through His Son Jesus dying for you as He has me? Tell it.

Has He helped you when you turned from your old life and committed to follow and obey Jesus? Tell it.

Is there full and total joy in your new life in Him despite the troubles and difficulties that daily life might hold? Tell it.

The telling will be simple and honest and sincere.

The joy of Jesus will shine through your heart and face. It will be contagious. Love and sincerity are always understood and felt.

SHARE JESUS

Witness now. Do it with love and with His Help. Tell what He has done.

The world needs you to SHARE JESUS.
