Only one Truth
I watched the news yesterday and tried to decide if it was truth or lie. It is not always easy to tell the difference. All of us have been caught believing a lie.
It all started back in the Garden of Eden when Satan deceived Eve and she took the forbidden fruit. Since that time lies have become a part of human life.
Lying is now expected in business and politics. Gone are the days when a person’s handshake was their bond. World events are built on lies and we can not expect a change. Satan’s deception is evident in every aspect of life.
However, there is truth.
Jesus says to those who believe in Him, 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32 NKJV
We have to decide if what we hear is truth or lie, but Jesus has shown us clearly the truth of God. Looking to the scriptures we find that the truths of God do not change. God does not lie and hates lies. He has proclaimed His truths and they are the only ones we can count on.
God sent His Son
God first gave us the Old Testament’s accounts of what he expected of us and laws to guide us. He then sent His Son to show us in the flesh what He wanted and expected of us.
He did all this with many witnesses so that we would have the physical evidence to build our faith on. There is not an event in history that is better documented than the life of Jesus. We have a multitude of eyewitnesses and many historical records telling of His life and death.
His testimony
When Thomas asked, 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14:6 NKJV
There is only one truth and that is God’s truth. When we are in doubt if something is truth or lie we only need to go to the source of all truth. God who is the same yesterday, today, and forever provides the only truth there is.
There is also only one way to be right with God and that is through Jesus the Christ. If you don’t know Him as your personal Savior find a Christian and ask them what to do. Any follower of Jesus should be able to tell you all you need to know.
Some things are life-changing. Following Jesus in one of those things.
