Ways and THE WAY
People spend their lifetimes going in a lot of different directions.
They choose different colleges, pursue different career paths, and most obviously, marry different people than the rest of us.
We hear people talking about the best way to get a good job, lose weight, or find a good buy.
In all that hustle and confusion of words and opinions, have you ever longed for a quiet haven?
Have you ever wondered if there was simply just The Way to what was best for you?
Read on, seeker. Read on.
Jesus tells us in John 14:6 that HE, JESUS, is THE WAY.
In a world that lays out a lot of paths before us, Jesus tells us there is only one way that leads to that which is worthwhile and that HE is THE WAY.
There is no other answer. There is no other choice.
It is simply Jesus or the wrong way.
What is True?
He continues that in a world of lies and falseness, He alone is the TRUTH.
Human beings spend their lives seeking truth. We might not put it quite that way, but ultimately we are seeking that which is true.
Likely, we seek truth in the world of information. We turn to the internet, radio, television news, and publications of all kinds but find only a million differing viewpoints. Politically, sometimes medically, we hear a lot of differing opinions. We humans sort and shuffle, read and evaluate, scratch our heads, and sort, shuffle, read and evaluate all over again.
Often, we come away with partial truths and uncertainties.
THE TRUTH
Jesus alone is the truth.
In Him, there are concrete answers to our eternal questions.
There is no doubting, only the quiet assurance that what He has told us IS TRUTH.
HE ALONE IS TRUTH.
The search ends in Him.
Another Day or THE LIFE
He also calls Himself the Life.
Ah, for true LIFE!
We look up from the crush of the city, the pace of the workplace, the frantic confusion, and the lack of peace even at home. We look around and think that this is no way to live. So, we sigh, shake our heads, and think to ourselves that we desperately need to find a better way to live.
Rather desperately, we want a life of joy and purpose and yes, peace.
Into that mental picture and confusion, walks Jesus and tells us quietly that HE is the LIFE!
He is that for which we have been searching. He IS LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE AND LIFE! True life is in Him and IS Him.
ONE PATH ONLY INTO THE FATHER’S PRESENCE
Jesus tells us that through Him only, we come to the Father.
The philosophy of the day is busy telling us that there are many ways to be spiritual. We are told that there are many ways to heaven. The popular doctrine of the world today, tells us that most religions of the world want good things. Often we hear people say that they believe you just have to do your best and do whatever you want. These lies are sending people to hell.
There is no trusting in ourselves and in our selfish feelings and desires. Such living will cause pain and suffering now and for eternity.
It is putting God first and seeking and obeying His Will that will ultimately bring us happiness and purpose.
Out of God’s great, great love and desire to save us, He sent Jesus to die for our sins and lead us to God.
It is time to follow Jesus.
JESUS ALONE IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE, AND HE ALONE IS THE ONLY WAY TO THE FATHER GOD ALMIGHTY!
