John 4:42 NKJV 42 Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed
the Christ, the Savior of the world.”
You remember the story of the woman at the well.
Jesus has promised living water. He has told her all that she has done in her life of sin.
She realizes He is the Messiah.
Next, she runs into the village to tell her friends and neighbors of Jesus. They come out to meet Jesus themselves.
Now we read the powerful verse above. They say that they no longer believe because of anything she has said, but because they have heard Him for themselves, and KNOW that HE is the CHRIST, the SAVIOR of the WORLD.
The moment comes when we all must decide for ourselves.
We heard the testimonies of others.
Perhaps, you have seen the huge changes in the lives of those who have been touched by Christ.
Yet, you must come to Him in prayer and seeking, to learn of Him for yourself.
Likewise, you must talk to Him. Read His Word for yourself.
Because He is the Christ
May the words that we teach in that Sunday school class, or speak to those who do not yet know of Him, be empowered by the Holy Spirit so that those listening come to see Him for themselves.
Then our job is to pray without ceasing until they say…it was not what you said but that they had heard Him in their hearts and knew by the teaching of the Holy Spirit that Jesus was the Christ, the Savior of the world.
Their Savior.
Their Salvation.
The sins they committed had been confessed to God.
Lastly, their Souls and Their Eternity were forever changed by the acceptance of Jesus as their Savior.
Have you heard Him for yourself, and do you know that Jesus is the Christ, the Savior?
