The Church
I came across a truly beautiful account, many years ago, of a Sunday school teacher who took her class of children into their sanctuary. Theirs was a church that was filled with many stained glass windows. Her earlier lesson that day had been about the apostles and as the teacher questioned the children, most had already forgotten the apostles’ names. The teacher gestured to the depictions in the stained glass to prompt her class.
Nothing.
No recollection of names by any of these little ones.
She sighed.
They were very young. Maybe, her presentation hadn’t been the best.
At this moment, a powerful blessing interrupted her dismal thoughts.
God’s brilliant sunlight broke through the clouds and gloriously lit the church windows.
There was a sharp intake of breath from the children.
She tried again.”Children, who are these believers?”
One young voice spoke up. “Oh, they are the people the light shines through.”
The teacher smiled.
They had understood afterall.

I love that story and even more, I love the fact that as believers, we are all people through whom God will shine His Light. Amen.
Christ is the Light of this world and as His followers, we are to be lights as well. Then and Now.
We might feel that our light is very small, yet in a dark world it is amazing how bright that tiny gleam can be.
God will part the clouds and turn His infinitely greater Light to shine through us.
You may never know how far-reaching your little light will shine into the dark corners of someone else’s soul when it was most needed.
Be willing to be used.
Give your life and heart to God and allow Him to shine through your words and life with HIS LIGHT.
