The Miracle of Love

Our love for each other

All that we do should be done in love. Let’s repeat that again. All things are to be done in love. Everything.

In other words, we should do nothing at all that is NOT done in pure, holy, God-inspired love. Every word, every thought, every action must contain love and be motivated by love for each other. So let’s let that thought seep into our souls a bit.

¹⁴Let all that you do be done with love. 1 Corinthians 16:14 NKJV

By now, you are thinking that no human being can love like that. You are right. Without the Holy Spirit filling us and giving us God’s strength, we cannot love to that level.

Nehemiah 8:10 says that “the joy of the Lord is your strength.” He pours His joy into us when we are His. To be His, we must ask Christ in as Savior, ask God to forgive us through Christ, and ask the Holy Spirit to infill us and to guide us as we trust and obey Christ. God, Himself, then fuels us with Himself. He is Perfect Love, and He is Joy. It is not of ourselves that we do anything of value but of Him when He is indwelling.

Try to drive a car without ever putting in gas. We go along for a while but soon run out of gas and can not move an inch further. Try to love someone on our own, and we go for a bit and soon run out of desire to help them or care. We are soon at the side of the road, so to speak, with our feelings out of line and feeling anything but loving.

What is the solution?

We stop attempting to do what can only be accomplished when we ask God to live within us. He then pours His joy and love through us. We become His vessels through whom He reaches out to others. That translates into unlimited fuel for us to care and share with and inspire and…yes, you guessed it, love others.

In everything, we use the God-given gift of His love and joy. We then accomplish what He wants us to accomplish and without running out of motivation, care, and love. In fact, the amazing thing is that not only are we given the strength of the Lord, but His love and joy in amazing abundance.

We too are invigorated and are filled to overflowing. He keeps pouring. The overflowing joy in us, “sloshes over” to touch those around us. All will feel it, be touched by it, get a bit in their lives.
