Thank You, Lord!
It is nearing Thanksgiving Day and more thought is given to being thankful to God than usual. That is actually a very sad state,as we have so much to thank God for every day. The glorious and mighty acts of God are mind-boggling. Think of the power of God as we look at creation all around us. Think of the provision of God. Every morsel of sustenance and every protection is from God. We seldom thank Him and when we do there is no way that we can thank Him enough. The psalmist expressed it as God’s “excellent greatness!” Read with me in Psalm 150.
Praise God in His sanctuary;
Praise Him in His mighty firmament!
2 Praise Him for His mighty acts;
Praise Him according to His excellent greatness!Psalms 150:1-2 NKJV
The prophet Isaiah said he must mention the lovingkindness of God.
All the material blessings around us and that sustain us are from the hand of God. Do we tell others of all that God has done for us? Do we we realize our inadequacies in our attempts to thank God? Likewise, do we realize our inability to thank God enough for all He is and all He has done for us all?
Isaiah goes on to mention the goodness of God and His mercies.
Isaiah realizes that God has made us His people and became our Savior!
How can we thank Him enough?
We must thank Him by giving Him all of our lives in service to Him and in gratitude beyond words to express.
I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the Lord
And the praises of the Lord,
According to all that the Lord has bestowed on us,
And the great goodness toward the house of Israel,
Which He has bestowed on them according to His mercies,
According to the multitude of His lovingkindnesses.
8 For He said, “Surely they are My people,
Children who will not lie.”
So He became their Savior. Isaiah 63:7-8 NKJV
Lastly, we fully realize that we can never thank God enough.
He sent Jesus to die for our sins so that we could be restored to our relationship with God. The wall of our sins that blocked us forever from God was destroyed by Christ’s death.
Access to God was available when we confessed our sins and asked for forgiveness through our belief in Jesus, The Risen Son of Almighty God.
There is no way to thank Him fully.
Paul sums it up in the following verse:
Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift! 2 Corinthians 9:15 NKJV
We cannot describe the perfection of Christ as God’s gift nor thank Him enough.
Yet, we try because we are grateful and love Him so very much.
Let us spend our lifetimes here… and then our eternity with Him… trying to give our Heavenly Father our LOVE AND PRAISE!
