Sweet Jesus
When you pray you can use whatever is on your heart to help you speak to God.
You may remember how Merle Haggard sang One Day at a Time. The song is based on asking Jesus for just one day at a time.
My Friend, one day at a time is all we have. Yesterday is gone and tomorrow may never come.
Jesus prayed often. He needed to talk to His Father. If Jesus needed to talk to His Father, we certainly do.
Our Lord was very busy preaching the Kingdom of Heaven, healing the sick, and teaching how to live right with God. He hardly had a minute to himself. However, He still made time to be alone to pray.
It says in Mark 1:35 NKJV, 35 Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.
Prayer was important to Jesus even as the Son of God. He lived in a human body while on earth and He faced all the temptations we face.
One day at a time Sweet Jesus is all we need.
Our prayers are not just about our needs or the things we may want. Prayer is a time to talk to God confessing who He is and how you love Him.
In our crazy society sometimes it is hard to define love. Love of God is even harder, but Jesus helps us to understand what it means to love God.
Jesus says in John 14:21 NKJV, He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”
