O God, You are my God;
Early will I seek You;
My soul thirsts for You;
My flesh longs for You… Psalm 63:1a NKJV
Song of Morning
I stand before the breaking dawn
to learn the words of silent praise
to You, My Father.
Your praise leaps from the mist
of river’s silvered shadows
as it meets the newborn sky.
Breath suspended, thoughts Godward,
Awe enfolds, inspires, lifts, lifts, to Your realm of love and life
and yet more love. .and yet—more.
Your love for me surpasses understanding.
Only now can I realize that mine for You does as well.
My limited dimensions, my earth dust body,
my eternal soul yearn to soar my love for You
into Your Heart.
You are loved too, Father.
Dawn breaks, the sun rises —
You are loved too, my God,
my soul cries.
My silent praise, gives way
to my sobs.
My love is received.
You know.
