Sometimes a few words, said by the right person, can change our lives forever. Such is the case with the following words.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 NIV
SIN SURROUNDS US
We live in a world of sin.
That is really not something that is new to any of you.
We see the effects of sinful living everywhere.
It is not necessarily something we have done ourselves, but the effects of the sins of others that often impact us.
OURS TOO
And yes, let’s be honest, it is definitely OUR sins that add to the evil of the world.
CONFESSING
Our verse reminds that if we confess our sins to God, He is faithful and just and will forgive us.
Our sins go !
He will forgive us and purify us from all unrighteousness.
We will be clean.
PURIFIED IN CHRIST
Once you ask Jesus into your heart as Savior and tell God that you will obey and follow Jesus, you can ask God for forgiveness through Christ.
It is freely given.
You are free from your sins! Relief and joy flood into our hearts where only dread and fear existed before. Guilt is banished along with sorrow. We feel light and grateful to our forgiving, glorious Lord!
God purifies us and gets rid of unrighteousness in our lives!

Thus, our verse today is indeed a few words that can rock our universe and cleanse our hearts.
We are made ready for eternal life with God forever.
