SALVATION

That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. ¹⁰ For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9-10 NKJV

SALVATION

My hands are empty

and I am excruciatingly alone.

Blinding darkness

forces me to my knees.

This is the end of myself.

There is nothing left

but to let go

and sink

into the void.

Nothing. There is Nothing. Nothing.

Desperately, sightlessly,

I reach —

Up.

In the emptiness,

a Hand

finds mine.

An ironlike grasp catches me.

His strength overwhelms me.

His grip is the only reality

in my universe.

The pull takes my breath away.

He lifts me up and up

and still up.

An unimaginable wonder

engulfs me.

I am washed

in the shock

of His Love..and Light.

Forgiveness floods

into the raw wounds

of my soul.

Pain is obliterated

by His Voice.

“My child,” He says,

“I love you.”

He fills my hands

with His joy.

He enfolds me

in His Presence.

“My God,” I whisper,

“I love you too.”

And the darkness

dies.
