Reconciling the World
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.
20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 NIV
Reconciliation
Firstly, God is in the blessed business of bringing fallen man to Himself through the sacrifice of Jesus for us. We are all sinful, utterly and totally filled with the sins we have committed, and separated from a Holy and altogether Righteous God.
Through Christ on the Cross
Secondly, God loved us, fallen though we were, and sent His Perfect Son to take our sins upon Himself. He was the Perfect Sacrificial Lamb given one time for all sin. We merely had to believe that He is the Christ and confess Him, and ask God for forgiveness through Him. God indeed reconciled us to Himself through Christ.
Made New
We are indeed made new.
The old has gone forever and the new is here to stay because of our Savior Jesus.
Our Job of Joy
It doesn’t end there.
Next, we can ask for the gift of the Holy Spirit and with Him indwelling within us, we will have the help needed for our part of the ministry. God gave you and me the ministry of reconciliation.
Tell Others of Jesus
Just as God no longer counts our sins against us, He wants us to go out and tell others about Him.
Tell others how you were changed and forgiven and that they can be reconciled to God as well.
By sharing your testimony you are an ambassador for Christ as God wants you to be.
God will make His appeal to sinners through us and the words we speak for Him.
Share the Joy
Therefore, we must first be reconciled to God ourselves and then share the joy of His reconciliation with others.
Tell them of Jesus, the Risen Son of God the Father. Christ died for you and me and for those whom you tell.
He died for you and me so that after being saved, we could share the message of reconciliation with others.
They too can be forgiven and made right with God. Their lives will be changed for now and for eternity.
No longer will they be on death row headed to hell for their sins.
Believers Can All Be Ambassadors for Christ
Those we tell who become believers and obey and follow Christ can be made clean and forgiven. They too become new creatures.
Furthermore, they will also become ambassadors for Christ as we are. Because of Christ’s death for you, your sins can be wiped away and you can be made new, fully reconciled to God.
Your sins are gone!
As new creatures, sons and daughters of God, we are part of the glorious chain of ambassadors for Christ.
Praise God
Therefore, Praise God for the gift of reconciliation that comes from Him through Christ Jesus His Son.
