27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27 NKJV
16 Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all. 2 Thessalonians 3:16 NKJV
33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you [a]will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 NKJV
PEACE
Hanging on the wall of my soul is a memory,
like a charcoal sketch of blended gray and muted light,
as quiet, silenced breath,
like hovering peace
the river waited for me
at midwinter.
It cradled me for a fragile sliver of time
in the sheltered alcove
between bridge and river bank.
The world crept away
and God just held me
until I had absorbed the lesson
and the peace
into the far corner of my soul.
And in that far corner,
I hung quietness to be revisited,
and the memory of the river,
and God’s love
found in that silent place.
