Someone once said, “WHILE SOME OCCUPATIONS ARE IDENTIFIED BY THEIR UNIFORMS, CHRISTIANS ARE TO BE KNOWN FOR THEIR LOVE.”
7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 1 John 4:7 NKJV
LOVE IS OF GOD
The beloved apostle John tells us that love is of God and we too should love one another.
We are not to be remembered by our looks, our outfits, our membership, our educational connections, or our occupational ties and accomplishments. Instead, we are to be known for our love to each other, and to everyone.
It so happens that it is the one thing that of ourselves we cannot produce. This source of love comes from the Father Himself and flows into us and dwells within by the Holy Spirit. Such powerful, abundant love then reaches out to others around us. It reaches out to those who agree and those who disagree with our faith and likes.
LET US BE KNOWN
Let us be known for our love.
The lavish outpouring of love to all is what distinguishes us from the other faiths and other peoples of this world. We are to be known for our love, pure, simple, and unconditional.
Love is of God and from God because as Scripture tells us God Himself IS love. (I John 4:8).
FREELY GIVEN
This holy, deep, perfect love is freely given to us by God. All who are born of God and know God have this love from Him and of Him to share with all we meet.
It is now to be freely given to others from our grateful hearts.
