For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Rom 5:6-7
In due time, Christ came to earth as the living sacrifice for sins and sinners and died for us. It was the perfect time because we needed Him so badly. If you haven’t yet received Him as your Savior, it is still the right time.
Christ Died for Sinners
At Calvary, Christ Jesus dies on the cross for the ungodly.
He died for those then and for us who live now and for those to come.
We were all without the strength to get away from our sins.
We Need Him
We all need a Savior, so God sent Jesus in due time.
Just in time, in the perfect time, at the right time, for all time Christ came and took our sins and saved us.
He died for us and we are made free because of it.
Believe, Confess, Repent, Receive, Obey and Live for Him
Our part is to confess He is the risen Son of God and to confess our belief in Jesus and ask Him into our lives as Savior.
We then ask God to forgive us our sins through Jesus and salvation comes and we are made free.
Sins Forgiven and Gone
Sins are forgiven and gone.
Yet, let us consider the agony of Christ on the cross for the sins of the world.
More personally, let us consider that He would have gone to the cross if you were the only person on earth and needed forgiveness.
He Still Would Have Gone For You
He still would have gone for you. Christ loved us that much. God loved us enough to send His Son to die for us. Think about that for a while.
Do people die for others?
Scarcely.
Our Scripture passage today even says that.
There are rare times that someone will die for a righteous man or for a good cause, true.
But, will one die for someone who hates you and mocks you. Would you die for someone who had ridiculed you all their lives and still does?
Jesus did.
He died for you.
Jesus loves you.
He loves Ungodly you and me.
He loves Sin-filled you and me.
Jesus loved and He died… and He made all the difference in the universes for us and for all eternity.
