Ever think you did something well? Excel in an accomplishment? Deserve the praise? A red flag is going up.
We actually do things in God’s strength alone.
9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 NKJV
ALL IS FROM GOD
All strength comes from God. It is His strength in us. Every ability is from Him. Without Him, we are empty, weak vessels that can do nothing.
PAUL’S REALIZATIONS
Paul says he sees and acknowledges his weakness and human limitations.
He says he will boast in telling others that he is nothing without God.
He knows his weakness brings him the insults of others, and that life itself brings difficulties.
YET REJOICE
Yet, he rejoices in them because they make him realize all the more, that he can do nothing in his own strength.
IN CHRIST ONLY
In Christ’s strength, however, he realized he can, and we can, do the impossible.
Reason, indeed, to rejoice in Christ dwelling within us.
