God Did Not
Have you ever thought about how much it means to us that God did not send His Son to condemn us?
17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:17 NKJV
What would it be like if Jesus had come to condemn us? Could any of us stand before a righteous God and defend our actions?
That little phrase, ‘God did not,’ becomes some of the most beautiful words when we apply them to our lives.
Before the foundation of the world, God decided that He would give us free choice. With that privilege, He knew that we would sin and that we would not be able to come into His presence.
Jesus came to save
God knew that we would sin and turn away from Him. So He provided a way for us to have fellowship with Him.
He sent Jesus so we could be saved by believing that He is the Son of God and that He died for our sins. He was buried and lay for three days in the tomb. On the third day, He rose from the dead and appeared to many people.
Those who He appeared to were so convinced that they faced death rather than deny what they had witnessed.
In the centuries since He arose many thousands have died for their faith in Him.
Perhaps we may have to face the choice of denying Him or losing our lives. Christians are still being killed for believing in Him.
Jesus will come to judge
Jesus did not come into the world to condemn the world, but He will come to judge the living and the dead.
Everyone will be asked to give an account of what they have done with the life God gave them.
Those who have accepted salvation through Jesus will be saved and those who have not will be condemned.
Jesus will first catch up all believers into the sky with Him. He will then judge those who have rejected God’s salvation.
Jesus will then pronounce judgment on all who have rejected God’s plan.
Many will say they have done miracles in His name and He will say He does not know them.
Which side of the judgment will you be on?
