Believers have been chosen by Jesus for a blessed and glorious event ahead in our lives! We are to go and bear fruit!
16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. John 15:16 NKJV
FRUIT-BEARING
Jesus chose us for fruit-bearing. What exactly does this mean?
We who are believers in Jesus, are a part of His kingdom building.
Jesus told us that being linked to Him would give us the nourishment and strength as believers to do things.
Good things would come from our faith in Him and in Him working in and through us.
He gave us the illustration of the vine and branches in Scripture (See John 15:5.)
We must remain in and of Him to be productive.
Left to our own strength and devices, we will fail and run out of the life-giving energy we need.
In Christ, we can and will bear fruit.
Furthermore, that fruit will remain, last, be good, and of value.
LASTING VALUE
The good deeds we do, the witnessing, the sharing, caring, baptizing, loving, healing and encouraging we do in Him, will come to fruition. It will be of value, viable, lasting, eternal.
We are a part of Christ and His life-giving Holy Spirit will be in us. Thus, we will work in Christ and for Christ.
We will want to do these things for the joy of Jesus and the kingdom of God.
Thus, we will ask for God’s Will in our lives and truly, honestly want it and seek it.
We ask God in the name of Jesus and He will give us that for which we ask.
It will always be what is best for us.
