EXHAUSTED?
Are you tired yet? Are you totally exhausted? Has it been a busy day again with long hours and much pressure at work? Or are the children down with the flu and the day was filled with worry and concern for them? Are you wishing for a moment to find a place to sit down and be still? Do you long for silence and peace?
UNIVERSAL WEARINESS
The feeling of exhaustion and desire for relief is universal.
The world has long felt the weariness and strain of hard work, physical or mental or both.
We rush.
There seems never enough time.
Sleep evades. You long for a park bench in the shade. You long to escape for a few moments. Weariness doesn’t go away. The work feels unending.
What then is the answer to your unending, wearisome grind?
JESUS GIVES US REST
Jesus knows all about the difficulties and drains of labor and what it is like to feel heavily burdened.
He tells us simply to come to Him.
HE OFFERS ALL WE WILL EVER NEED
Jesus offers nothing more than Himself because it is all we will ever need.
In Him, there is the peace that passes understanding.
There is rest in Him from all that upsets and destroys our peace.
There is a quieting of the soul.
As we draw nearer to our Savior and Friend, the troubles of the world seem to fade.
The love and assurance of our God surround us.
ROOM FOR YOU
There are no words to really describe this haven that we have with Him.
We don’t need to leave it.
He comes and dwells within us and goes with us everywhere.
We take Him with us.
