Ever the Son
8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever Hebrews 13:8 KJV
17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Ephesians 3:17-19 KJV
EVER THE SON
The sunlight drifted across my face
and I reveled in the warmth of this Indian summer day.
Then, shadow fell and I felt the sudden, breezy cold.
The pattern repeated itself again…
and over again.
The sun intermittently warmed….the shadow brought the day’s chill.
I thought then of my life
with its joy and sorrow…
happiness and pain.
It also came in that same unending pattern.
Though it all, the sun was there, and through each day the Son is also ever with me.
It was simply a cloud between that had made me feel the chill…..and the sorrow.
I was the one holding up the barrier between His warmth, joy, and peace, and my bleaker existence.
Ever the SON was there.
He warmed, encouraged, and made me hopeful, joyful, and uplifted.
Oh God, how blessed I am!
May I cast aside all clouds of doubt and fear
and rejoice in the warmth of Your forgiveness
and love.
May we ever realize and proclaim,
“Ever the Son is with us!”
