Choosing Heavenly Versus Demonic Wisdom

This passage explains a great deal of what we are seeing in our daily lives on this planet. This section of Scripture reveals much that goes on about us in this life.

13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. 15 This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. 16 For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. 17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. 18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. James 3:13-18 NKJV

TWO CHOICES, TWO WAYS

Are we choosing heavenly or demonic wisdom to govern our lives?

This scripture shows us that God gives us two choices.

You are given two ways of life.

We are given free will and thus, are able to choose which way we will go.

You can choose self-seeking, sensual, and evil behavior and try to get what you want in this life. Or you can choose Godly behavior guided by the wisdom that we ask God to give us. In the second choice, we follow the example of Christ Who obviously did not seek His Will but that of His Father. In so doing, Christ lived and died for the good of others.

.A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE

A world of difference lies between the two choices.

CHOOSING GOD

First are those who live with good conduct, exhibiting good works.

They are meek, do not boast, and do not lie.

They are gentle, peaceable, merciful, and behave in a Christ-like manner.

CHOOSING THE WORLD AND THE DEVIL

The other group is self-seeking, bitter, and follows that which is demonic, evil, and filled with confusion. It puts self first and cares nothing for others.

TWO LISTS

Scripture gives the full list in our passage which is self-explanatory in each of the two categories. Your ultimate decision is life-altering. Not only are we deciding how we will behave and who we will serve in our earthly lives, but where we will spend eternity.

YOUR CHOICE

Thus, you are given this choice. Your decision determines your joy or sorrow, fulfillment or frustration. Your choice will determine the destination of your soul.

IT IS TIME

Your time to decide is
