Bond of peace

Let the bond of peace be with you this day!

Paul writes to the Ephesian Christians to walk worthy of their calling. We need to always be conscious of what Jesus has called us to be and to do. It is not a prideful walk, but a walk that imitates Him.

I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Ephesians 4:1-3 NKJV

The second verse of this scripture can also be translated, “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.” This is where the world is so very different from what our walk should be. You and I are given to the service of the greatest King the world will ever know. He showed us how to walk by going to the cross for our sins before we ever knew Him.

Let your prayer today be that you might try to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace with all your brothers and sisters. It is your duty as a follower of Jesus. He asks so little of us except that we love one another and show the world His love.

To show the world His love we have to be completely humble. We can not approach one another in pride and show true love. Look at Jesus the Creator of all things and the Lord of all Creation. He came to be born of lowly birth and to die on a cross.

We are to be like Jesus!
