All The Way !!
Around sixty years ago, my husband served in the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division.
To this day, wearing his 82nd cap, he is greeted in WalMart or Dollar Stores with calls of “82nd !” To this call, Bruce then heartily gives back the expected reply, “All the Way!”
These two older veterans then thank each other for their service, pound each other on the back, and walk on.
It makes me think of the hundreds of people to whom I have witnessed of Jesus. When asked if they are Christians, many give a help-hearted, “I hope so,” or “I try,”
or “No, not me, but Grandpa was.”
I best loved meeting fellow Christians who answered, “Yes, I am!!” when asked if they were Christians.
They have an assurance in their voice as did the men yelling, “82nd!”
They know who they are and who they serve “All the Way !!”
Their tone says, “No matter what happens, I belong to Christ!!”
I pray that our hearts each shout “All the Way!!,” as we follow Jesus, throughout our earthly lives, come what may.
