Abundant Joy
Abundant Joy is a gift from God to those who are living in obedience to His commands and following Him. It is an overflowing blessing of peace into our hearts from our Loving Father.
8 They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house,
And You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures. Psalms 36:8 NKJV
DWELLING IN GOD’S HOUSE
We know that when we have received Christ, we will one day live in Heaven with God. Yet, do we fully grasp that we can still dwell with God and He with us during our earthly lifetimes too? God pours out our sins and will pour His Holy Spirit into our hearts as Guide and Comforter. God quite literally then dwells with us and we with Him.
WITH GOD NOW AND FOR ETERNITY
We are satisfied with the fullness of being with Him and living in His precepts. In other words, we dwell with God now as well as when our spirits leave our bodies and go to God for eternity.
COMMUNION WITH CHRIST
Such communion and communication daily with God bring satisfaction and fullness of peace and joy from God living in us. God gives us to drink from the river of His pleasure. We find many references in Scripture of Christ being the living water within us when we receive Him as Savior. (See John 4:14 and John 7:38.) Such living water fills us with the love of Christ and flows through us. It enables us to share Jesus with those around us. Think of it as God’s love flowing through our lives and into the lives of others as we share our witness and faith with them.
CLOSENESS TO GOD
Full joy is experienced from the closeness we have with God. The closer we draw to Him, the closer He draws to us. (See James 4:8)
Nothing compares to the wonder of fellowship with God the Father, Jesus His Son, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit within us.
